The most striking aspect on first viewing of the restaurant is how contemporary the design is in comparison to its surrounds. architect by the owner Joe upton have worked closely to create a old design, incorporating the traditional aspects of the house and the surrounds whilst ensuring the venue remains inviting. the interior has a very sculptural feel about it with the bar area being dominated by a jutting suspended by the use of dramatic lighting.

Through the restaurant to ensure it fits in with its environment, exposed brick work, juxtaposed to this is the site of the operating Casa Velha. In contrast to this Joe has added a softer feel to a Portuguese, the restaurant by the use of different textures and colours to make the overall impact of the design less harsh. curvaceous philippe stack chairs, intimate dining areas under the mezzanine floor and subtle candle lighting effects all help to create an atmosphere that is extremely condusive to dining.

H igh quality is the aim at Casa Velha, from the table settings to the décor and most importantly to the food. the menu changes on a daily basis and is displayed on a huge wall  shown through the restaurants . The menu is an eclectic mix of traditional fayre which is served in a rary fashion.
